Overview

Texas Data Center Watch tracks one data center project in Nueces County: Beacon Point by Hut 8, near Corpus Christi and Calallen. It is listed as under construction. Hut 8's site describes 1,000 MW of utility capacity on a 525-acre site, with the first two phases representing about $17B in investment (Hut 8). Hut 8's June 10, 2026 SEC 8-K describes the first phase, 352 MW of critical IT capacity, on "an approximately 521-acre property"; Texas Data Center Watch shows both acreage figures (Hut 8 8-K).

A Sept. 9, 2026 TDLR registration, "Beacon Point Data Center Project," lists a 657,130 sq ft data center building at 4650 FM 1694, Robstown, est. $398,985,153, start Sept. 28, 2026 and completion Nov. 5, 2027. Its owner is Beacon Point DC LLC (aka Lon Hill Infrastructure LLC); the filing doesn't name Hut 8 (TDLR). Hut 8's 8-K calls Beacon Point DC LLC "an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Hut 8 Corp." and says it completed a $4.25B senior secured notes offering on June 9, 2026 to finance the first phase (Hut 8 8-K).

Coastal Bend Current reported on July 13, 2026 that site clearing had begun and the first phase is projected online in Q1 2027. It reported that no local government has approval authority over the site. The county judge said the county could not grant an abatement because its abatement policy was out of date, and Hut 8 declined to say whether it had sought abatements (Coastal Bend Current).

The developer says it will use no local water for cooling (KRIS).

Note: "registered" means a state accessibility (TDLR) building registration, not an environmental permit.
