Data Center Projects in Hudspeth County, Texas
Last verified: October 27, 2026 · 1 tracked project · 6 tracked records
Overview
Texas Data Center Watch tracks one proposed data center project in Hudspeth County: the Hueco Ranch data center campus on private property near Desert Haven, listed as proposed / in development. No permits or county approvals are recorded.
In an Oct. 9, 2026 message to residents, County Judge Joanna MacKenzie said organizations involved in the project, including ServerDomes Global, formally confirmed it to the county on Oct. 8 after earlier speculation. She wrote that it is being presented as an approximately $15B project (County Judge message). That figure comes from the project's representatives, as relayed by the Judge, not from a county finding.
Size claims (company, conflicting): No official size has been published. ServerDomes Global's project page is titled "Hueco Ranch 24,000 Acres" and lists 350 MW planned (ServerDomes). In an Oct. 10 letter reported by KFOX14, CEO David J. Keegan said reports of a 24,000-acre development were incorrect: the site would cover 2,000 acres of private property, with a $15B first phase on 700 acres of 10 domes, each 500 ft across and 65 ft high, powered by natural gas behind the meter (KFOX14). Both are company statements, and they differ.
According to the Judge's message, representatives say the project isn't seeking county tax abatements; that water use would be a one-time initial fill; that electricity would be generated on site; that road grading has begun as a good-faith step while road-use agreements are worked out; and that construction could begin as early as 2027 and last about four to five years, with about 800 construction jobs and 200–300 permanent jobs. The Judge said the county will seek supporting information to verify the water claims, noted residents' water and communication concerns, and said representatives have been invited to present to Commissioners Court (County Judge message). KVIA restates the Judge's confirmation (KVIA).
