Data Center Projects in Bastrop County, Texas

Last verified: October 27, 2026 · 3 tracked projects · 21 tracked records

Overview

Texas Data Center Watch tracks three data center projects near Cedar Creek: Pacifico Energy's 2,842-acre campus, listed as proposed, with TCEQ permits pending or challenged (Community Impact); the EdgeConneX Cedar Creek campuses, as Community Impact identifies them; and Project Longhorn – Building One. The last two are listed as registered (TDLR).

On July 20, 2026, residents filed motions asking TCEQ to overturn two construction stormwater permits for the BCG Cedar Creek Campus (Community Impact).

County action: on Aug. 10, commissioners again tabled a resolution asking the Legislature for expanded county powers over large industrial projects (Community Impact). It was on the Aug. 24 agenda as item D.8 (agenda). A related resolution about a Chapter 231 bill appeared on the Sept. 14 (agenda) and Sept. 28 (agenda) agendas. Texas Data Center Watch has not confirmed the outcome of any of these agenda items in an official record.

In September, TCEQ's air permits director told residents the Pacifico project is on hold under the Governor's permit pause (San Antonio Current).

Oct. 13 vote (E.6): Commissioners Court approved a resolution asking TCEQ to hold a public meeting on Pacifico CCK Energy LLC's electric generating unit standard permit registration 185019 (project 413471). TCEQ is not required to hold one (CBS Austin; agenda; draft resolution). Official minutes hadn't been posted as of this update.

None of the eight TDLR filings names EdgeConneX. They list owners Burr Computer Environment Inc (EDCAUS11–16) and Uppingham Adams Holdings, LLC (EDCAUS31–32), with the tenant shown as "Not Assigned." The EdgeConneX link comes from Community Impact, which cites the Texas Comptroller's data center registry as listing EdgeConnex MCN Austin Property 5 LLC as owner of ECX AUS11-16. Community Impact reports nine filings across three campuses totaling about 5.83 million sq ft and $5.84B, and describes the six buildings at 6682 and 6402 FM 535 as Campus No. 2, under construction per a photo caption (Community Impact).

Project Longhorn – Building One on Earl Callahan Rd near Walter Hoffman Road: an Oct. 7, 2026 TDLR registration lists a 498,165 sq ft data center building at an estimated $366M, with a Nov. 30, 2026 start and a Jan. 31, 2028 completion. The owner is listed as Roger Donald Wallace of Austin, and the design firm as Gensler (Dallas); the TDLR filing names neither Pacifico nor BlackChamber (TDLR). Community Impact (Oct. 8) identifies the filing as the first of two data center buildings planned by Pacifico Energy and BlackChamber on the 2,842-acre Cedar Creek property, with BlackChamber developing the data center and Pacifico the power facility (Community Impact).

Note: "registered" means a state accessibility (TDLR) building registration, not an environmental permit or local approval.
